A native of Brooklyn, New York, Roberta received her B.A. from the State
University of New York at Albany and her Master of Social Work from Michigan
State University.
After receiving her Master degree, Roberta worked at Genessee County
Community Mental Health in Flint, Michigan. In 1979, she moved
to Houston, Texas and directed the Family Counseling Clinic at the Chicano
Training Center. She also acted as field work instructor for Master degree
students from the University of Texas/Austin and the University of Houston.
Roberta entered private practice in 1982. Over the years, she has worked with individuals and families with a wide range
of emotional and behavioral disorders, but in most recent years, her interests
have centered on the provision of trauma/critical incident stress managment services, management consultations, corporate trainings,
coaching and customized counseling services for corporate executives
and their families. Roberta is fluent in Spanish. To date, she has traveled as far as Ecuador, the Caribbean and the Middle East assisting multinational companies with critical incidents and other urgent needs.
Roberta is licensed in the State of Texas as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. She is a member of the National Association of Social Workers, the Employee Assistance Professionals Association and the International Critical Incident Stress Foundation. Roberta volunteers as a mental health professional with the non-profit Bluebonnet CISM Team, which serves local EMS/fire departments and law enforcement agencies in the greater Houston, TX area.
Roberta resides in both Houston and Austin, and regularly provides critical incident response in the Houston, Austin and San Antonio.

Biba received her B.A. in Psychology from the University of Houston in 1992, at which time she began working with children and adolescents at the Harris County Psychiatric Center in Houston, Texas.
After receiving her Master in Social Work from the University of Houston in 1995, Biba joined the staff of Cypress Creek Hospital and Rehabilitation Center in Houston, Texas. At Cypress Creek, she worked with adults on the psychiatric intensive care and general psychiatric units, as well as on the head injury and chemical dependency units. She also provided services on the child/adolescent psychiatric unit and within the outpatient and return-to-work programs. Biba not only provided direct care, but also acted as a clinical unit manager, team leader and field instructor for master level graduate students from UH-Graduate School of Social Work.
In 1998, Biba entered private practice, providing a variety of outpatient services to individuals and families with mental health and substance abuse issues. She also provides critical incident stress management services as part of the Cohen Associates, P.A. Corporate CISM Team. While Biba maintains a general outpatient practice, she has particular clinical interest in providing smoking cessation programs and in treating adolescents and adults eating disorders.
Biba is licensed in the state of Texas as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and is qualified as a Substance Abuse Professional for Department of Transportation regulated employees. She is also a member of the National Association of Social Workers. Over the years, Biba has worked as a volunteer at the DePelchin Children’s Center in Houston and at the Houston Area Women’s Center.

Tana received her B.A. from the University of Texas at Austin in 1964, and her Master of Education in Counseling from the University of Houston in 1971. Between 1972 and 1979, she provided counseling services for two non-profit agencies in Texas, which provide career and vocational services to the public, as well as for the Texas Employment Commission.
In December of 1982, Tana became the Executive Director of the Montgomery County Crisis Action Line in Texas, which
serves county residents who are experiencing situational, emotional, or mental health crises. In October of 1983, she accepted a position with Family Violence Outreach in Spring, Texas, where she functioned as an advocate and family counselor. Between February, 1985 and August, 1986, she provided psychotherapy services on the Adult Substance Abuse Unit at Laurelwood Hospital, in The Woodlands, Texas.
Tana entered private practice in 1986. She treats children, adolescents and adults, with a variety of mental health and life issues, including anxiety and depression, chemical dependency abuse and dependence, relationship and parenting concerns, and loss, abuse and other trauma experiences. She also responds to critical incidents in the corporate environment, as part of her practice.
In 1991, Tana joined the Bluebonnet Critical Incident Stress Management Team, in Houston, TX, which provides services to firefighters, law enforcement officers, EMS and other emergency personnel, following their professional involvement with traumatic and catastrophic events. She has served as the Clinical Director of the Team for six of the years that she has been a member.
Tana is a member of the Cohen Associates, P.A. Corporate CISM Team, and has responded to requests for critical incident services following robberies, accidents, acts of violence, and sensitive layoffs. Tana provides services for the Team within the greater Houston, TX area, as well as internationally.
Tana has completed post-graduate training in EMDR, hypnotherapy and critical incident stress management. She also has received 500 hours of marriage and family counseling training at the Houston-Galveston Family Institute. Mary Franz grew up in the Midwest and completed her undergraduate degree in Social Work at Tabor College in Hillsboro, Kansas. Graduating with her Master in Social Work from the University of Kansas in 1980, Ms. Franz came to Houston, TX in 1985 because she was chosen to receive the prestigious Postgraduate Fellowship in Clinical Social Work from Baylor College of Medicine.
With over 30 years as a professional, Ms. Franz earliest experiences included teaching in an undergraduate school of social work and coordinating the senior Social Work student’s practicum experiences in area agencies. At Baylor Psychiatric Clinic and at the emergency room at Ben Taub Hospital in Houston, TX, she provided rapid screening, assessment and referral services for psychiatric emergencies. She also conducted marital assessment seminars for medical student rotations and provided individual, couple and group therapy treatment.
After working as an inpatient program therapist in a short term adolescent hospital unit, Ms. Franz accepted the position of Program Director of Rosewood Hospital’s Psychiatric/Dual Diagnosis Unit in 1988. Five years later she accepted the position of Social Work Supervisor at Gulf Coast Medica Center in Wharton, Texas and began to see clients privately. After leaving Gulf Coast, Ms. Franz continued to build her private practice and worked as an After Hours Emergency On Call Screener for Riceland Community Mental Health travelling to ER facilities in Ft. Bend and Wharton Counties to evaluate and help stabilize people in distress by working with medical personnel, families and the police.
Currently in her private practice, Ms. Franz provides consultation for individuals, couples and business groups. She has developed and facilitated programs on communication, relationship building, coping with stress, managing conflict, life/work balance, grief, and coupling strategies. She is also a member of the 24/7 Cohen Associates P.A Corporate CISM Team, responding to the critical needs of corporate clients in the greater Houston Metropolitan area.

Sue Naas grew up on the Upper Gulf Coast of Texas. She received her B.S. in Health Services Administration from the University of Houston-Clear Lake (UHCL) in 1987. In 1991, she completed her M.S. in Counseling at UHCL. During graduate school, Sue acted as a graduate assistant for Barbara Herlihy, Ph.D. and had the honor of being the only student Guest Contributor to the book Dual Relationships in Counseling, (1992), written by Barbara Herlihy, Ph.D. and Gerald Corey, Ed.D.
After graduation, Sue worked in inpatient facilities in Texas City and Webster, Texas, treating adolescents and adults with serious mental health and chemical dependency issues. She was also on the start-up team that pioneered an early partial hospitalization program for geriatric mental health patients. During her tenure at Mainland Medical Center in Texas City, Sue received the First Humanitarian Award, for her extensive volunteer contributions to the community. This is the most distinguished award that can be bestowed to an employee of the H.C.A. Hospital System.
Sue entered private practice in 1993. In 1998, she joined the volunteer South Channel/Bay Area Critical Incident Stress Management Team, providing critical incident services to first responders following traumatic and catastrophic events. She is currently the Team’s Clinical Director. Sue is also a member of the Cohen Associates, P.A. Corporate C.I.S.M. Team and provides services to businesses that have been impacted by trauma, such as natural disasters, layoffs, bank robberies and workplace accidents. Sue responds for the Cohen Associates Team locally, nationally and internationally.
Sue is licensed in Texas as a Licensed Professional Counselor (L.P.C.) and as a Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist (L.M.F.T.). She is also a Certified Care Manager (C.M.C.). Barbara, a clinical social worker, maintains a private psychotherapy practice in Austin, Texas, and also provides critical incident stress management services as part of the Cohen Associates, P.A. Corporate CISM Team.
Barbara earned her Bachelor degree from the University of Tulsa in Social Service and her Master of Science in Social Work is from the University of Texas at Austin. She provided counseling and family therapy for Child Welfare in Tulsa, OK, before moving to Austin. She also worked as a therapist and crisis intervention counselor at the Travis County Mental Health Center for eleven years, before entering private practice in 1979.
Over the years, Barbara has developed specialties in the areas of trauma, grief, and serious physical illness, as well as couples and group therapy. She is on the faculty of the International Society for Bioenergetic Analysis, and has led numerous workshops, trainings, and experiential groups in the U.S., Canada, Brazil and New Zealand
Barbara is President of the Austin Society of Bioenergetic Analysis, past President of the Austin Group Psychotherapy Society, founder and past Board President for Project Transitions, Inc., which is Austin’s residential AIDS hospice. She is also co-founder of People's Community Clinic in Austin and Austin Family Mediation Association, as well as the 1995 recipient of the Alumnus of the Year Award for the University of Texas School of Social Work. Catherine received both her Bachelor of Science degree and her Master of Arts in Psychology from Texas A&M University at Kingsville, Texas, in 1974 and 1977, respectively.
Her early post-graduate career, between 1978 and 1985, were spent applying her clinical skills to adult learning programs in San Antonio, Texas. She first worked at Our Lady of the Lake University and later at San Antonio College. Between 1985 and 1987, and again from 1992 to 1995, Catherine worked for Drake Beam Morin, Inc. a career outplacement organization in Houston, Texas, providing career training and counseling services related to change and stress management, as well as grief.
Between 1987 and 1992, Catherine worked in Houston, TX at Post Oak Psychiatry Associates and then at the Kelsey-Seybold Clinic. At both organizations, she provided psychotherapeutic treatment, specializing in complicated grief, trauma resolution and anxiety disorders.
Catherine’s work in Austin, Texas, began at the Austin Center for Attitudinal Healing, working with children and adults impacted by catastrophic illness and loss. Later, Catherine directed the Story Circle Network, which assisted older women in writing their life stories.
With a specialty in grief and trauma, Catherine entered private practice in Austin in 1992. She joined the Cohen Associates Critical Incident Team in 2008. In recent years, Catherine has also volunteered for the Red Cross, following Hurricanes Katrina and Rita.

Meg received her B.A. in Sociology and Social Work from the University of Kansas in 1967, and her M.S.W. from the University of Maryland School of Social Work in 1969. Between 1969 and 1976, Meg worked in psychiatric hospitals and counseling centers in Connecticut, Washington and Georgia. In 1978, Meg joined the staff of Interface (Samaritan) Counseling Center, in Houston, TX, where she remained until 1982. In 1983, she entered private practice in Houston, providing mental health services to individuals, couples and families, until 2006.
Currently Meg is a Field Instructor for the Graduate Department of Social Work of the University of Texas San Antonio. She also is a part of the Cohen Associates, P.A. Corporate CISM Team, serving the Greater San Antonio, Texas area. She also travels with the Team in response to critical incident needs.
Meg has been active in the Critical Incident Stress Management field since 1991. She is a founding member of the Bluebonnet CISM Team, serving emergency public service responders in the greater Houston, TX area. She additionally was the Clinical Director of for Bluebonnet between 1997 and 1999, and was their President between 2004 and 2005.
Meg's clinical interests include grief and trauma resolution, professional compssion fatigue, stress management and family and couple communication processes.
Meg is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, a Licensed Professional Counselor and a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in the State of Texas.
